Students enrolled in Communication 431 at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa had the single task of putting together a three show series to be taped live by the end of the semester. The class started from scratch by hitting the books, and were tested on knowledge of studio/video production.

Then, came the creative process consisting of brainstorming ideas for a show. Ideas were thrown in, and thrown out. After debating and discussing, the final show emerged, "Dorm Room Dining" with the intention to show students how to cook in their dorm room to save money and have an alternative to the 'ol cafeteria.

The show was originally set to be called "Unconvectional", but was constantly mispronounced, and also a bit of a mouthful. Before long, "Dourmet", by mixing "Dorm" and "Gourmet" was thrown into the mix of other title ideas, and quickly chosen as the most creative.

Positions and roles were chosen among the students...jobs were learned...talent were cast...the set was designed...and food was made.

Check out the "Crew" page to see the students who put together the show.
